A lip reader has discovered a cutting two-word remark Donald Trump allegedly made to Joe Biden during his inauguration.
On January 20, Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, beginning his second term in office as a Republican. Due to the frigid weather, the event was held within the Capitol Rotunda, rather than on the typical outdoor platform at the United States Capitol.
Before the ceremony, Biden and his wife, Jill, welcomed Trump and Melania to the White House as part of the customary power handover. Expert lip reader Jeremy Freeman examined a brief encounter filmed during a photo opportunity.
According to Freeman, Biden said, “Welcome home,” to which Trump replied, “How are you?” It’s quite cold. I need to put my coat on; I’m chilly.”
When Biden concurred, Trump allegedly said, “Shut up, Biden,” before joking, “It’s colder than when we ski.”
Biden then replied, “It’s hello,” indicating his intention to go inside.
Trump’s administration has already garnered worldwide attention, both for his policy choices and interactions. Shortly after taking office, he issued a series of executive orders that reversed several of Biden’s important programs.
In his inaugural address, Trump emphasized his commitment to reshaping national policies, declaring, “As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female.” He also issued pardons or commutations for over 1,500 individuals charged in connection with the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Amid his whirlwind of executive actions, Trump reportedly discovered a farewell letter from Biden in the Oval Office, but only after being prompted by a journalist to check for it.
