If He Treats You More Like An Option Than A Priority, Treat Him These Ways
1. Make yourself and your needs a priority
People love you because you make them a priority and they don’t have to make you a priority. By pleasing yourself, doing what you want, when you want, how you want, even if you are alone in doing it, you are truly carving out a place for yourself in your life.
2. Stay committed to demanding better.
When you’re in a relationship, he or she should treat you like a priority. Stay resolved to demand better treatment and know that you’re doing the right thing by standing up for yourself, because you totally are.
3. Don’t second guess yourself – trust your instincts.
It may be tempting to think that you are overreacting, overly sensitive, or expecting too much, but you are not crazy for thinking that you deserve to be treated well.
4. Put it on the back burner.
Stop thinking of this guy as your priority and start thinking of him as a guy you’ve dated a little but probably won’t see again. If he doesn’t make you a priority, he shouldn’t be a priority to you.
5. Give him an ultimatum.
Tell this guy that if he doesn’t start acting like your boyfriend, you won’t stick around if he keeps ignoring you and treating you like crap.
6. Prepare for the worst.
Be prepared for the worst and know that you can get through this. There is more to life than a man who doesn’t make you a priority.
7. If all else fails, ghost.
If you’re not getting anywhere with this guy and he really has no idea what you’re talking about, then don’t hesitate to leave him. He doesn’t respect you enough to treat you right, so you don’t need to go out of your way to be nice to him either.
8. Learn from it.
Remember how bad you felt when this guy treated you like an option and you’ll never be tempted to date someone like that again.
9. Move on and don’t look back.
If he doesn’t treat you like the awesome girlfriend you deserve to be, then you don’t need him. Go on a date with someone new. Explore your options. Do anything but wait for this guy to change his mind. You’ll find someone else who really likes you.
