Prince Harry is reportedly “not entirely comfortable” with Meghan Markle’s decision to involve their children in promoting her new business venture, As Ever.
According to The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson, there appears to be a difference of opinion between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex regarding the public exposure of their children—five-year-old Prince Archie and three-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Speaking on A Right Royal Podcast, Wilkinson said, “From what I’ve gathered, Harry would prefer to keep their children out of the public eye. He has this belief that if they leave Montecito, a swarm of photographers will be waiting to snap pictures of his kids.”
In contrast, he explained, Meghan, who grew up in California, envisions a more open, West Coast-style lifestyle for her children—one that includes beach outings and public activities. “She doesn’t want to hide them away,” he added.
While Meghan has been careful not to reveal her children’s faces in media appearances, Wilkinson claimed Harry likely remains uneasy about their inclusion altogether.
In February 2025, Meghan launched her lifestyle brand As Ever, followed by her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which debuted in March. The show blends cooking, hosting, baking, and homemaking, including segments on candle-making and planning children’s parties. Celebrity guests like Abigail Spencer and Mindy Kaling have made appearances.
Behind the scenes, the Duchess has been praised for her generosity and thoughtful gestures toward the film crew.
According to a source who spoke to People, Meghan regularly provided special treats such as a coffee cart in the morning, a shaved ice truck on hot days, and locally made ice cream and acai bowls. Each crew member even received a $100 pan from the brand Our Place and a personalized spoon engraved with “Thank you, crew” when filming wrapped.
“She was incredibly warm and down-to-earth,” the crew member shared. “She’d even slice up food between takes and pass it around for everyone to try.”
During one segment with Mindy Kaling, the Duchess made a lighthearted correction when her former acting name, Meghan Markle, was used. She responded, “You know I’m Sussex now.”
The 43-year-old explained that after becoming a mother, adopting her family name felt significant: “When you have children, you want to share your name with them. I didn’t realize how meaningful that would be until it happened—it’s our little family name now.”
Meghan and Harry married in 2018 and became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
They later welcomed their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
However, Meghan’s comments about no longer identifying as “Markle” stirred mixed reactions online. One person wrote on X, “No one calls their friends by their married names if they knew them before marriage. Her name’s not changing in anyone’s phone.”
Others pointed out contradictions in her statements over the years. A 2021 quote resurfaced where Meghan lamented, “I nearly lost my name. There’s a loss of identity.” Critics were quick to compare that to her 2025 comment, “You know I’m Sussex now.”
Reactions ranged from amused to annoyed, with comments like “Oh, god… make it stop!” and “She is insufferable” appearing in response to the viral moment.
