A family from a remote country village traveled to New York City for the very first time. Everything in the giant metropolis amazed them, but nothing caught their attention more than the lobby of their hotel.
The father and his young son stood frozen, staring at two shiny silver walls that slid apart and closed back together all on their own.
“What is that, Paw?” the boy asked.
The father, having never seen an elevator in his life, whispered, “Son, I have absolutely no idea.”
As they watched, wide-eyed, an elderly, frail woman in a wheelchair rolled up to the silver walls and pushed a button. The doors slid open, she rolled into the small room inside, and the doors closed shut.
The father and son watched in sheer fascination as a row of numbered lights above the door lit up one by one, went back down, and finally chimed.
The silver doors slid open once more, and out stepped a stunning, gorgeous twenty-four-year-old woman.
The father’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. He gripped his son’s shoulder excitedly and hissed,
“Quick! Go get your mother!”
