A young boy was standing on a street corner selling fish.
To attract customers, he shouted,
“Dam fish for sale! Get your dam fish here!”
A pastor passing by stopped and frowned.
“Son, why do you keep calling them ‘dam fish’?”
The boy innocently replied,
“Because I caught them at the local dam!”
The pastor nodded.
“That makes sense.”
He bought a few fish and took them home.
At dinner, he told his wife,
“Please cook the dam fish.”
His wife raised an eyebrow.
“Excuse me? I didn’t know pastors were allowed to talk like that!”
The pastor quickly explained,
“They’re called dam fish because I bought them from the boy who caught them at the dam.”
Later, the family sat down for dinner.
The pastor looked at his son and said,
“Son, please pass the dam fish.”
His son calmly replied,
“Sure, Dad.”
Then he pointed at the side dishes.
“Now pass the f***ing potatoes!”
The pastor nearly dropped his fork.
His wife covered her face.
And the boy simply smiled.
“Hey, Dad… I’m just following the family vocabulary!”
