A billionaire was cruising down the highway in his brand-new Ferrari when, without warning, the engine suddenly died.
He tried everything he could think of.
He checked the buttons, opened the hood, stared at the engine, and even searched for solutions on his phone.
Nothing worked.
After a while, a scruffy old mechanic happened to walk by.
He took one look under the hood, studied the engine for about ten seconds, and gently tapped one tiny part with a small hammer.
The Ferrari roared back to life immediately.
The billionaire stared at him in disbelief.
“That was incredible! How much do I owe you?”
The old man calmly replied, “One thousand dollars.”
The billionaire nearly fell over.
“One thousand dollars?! You only tapped the engine once!”
“I need an itemized bill.”
The old man pulled out a piece of paper and wrote:
Tapping the engine: $1
Knowing where to tap: $999
The billionaire read it, smiled, and paid.
Then he looked at his Ferrari and whispered,
“Apparently, I’ve been paying for horsepower when I should’ve been paying for knowledge.”
