I was chatting with a beautiful woman at a bar when I smiled and asked,
“Can I buy you a drink?”
She looked at me suspiciously.
“Let me guess…”
“You’ve got a girlfriend, don’t you?”
“Guys like you always do.”
I sighed dramatically.
“Not anymore.”
“We broke up a little over a month ago.”
Her expression softened.
“Oh… I’m sorry to hear that.”
Then she smiled.
“Alright… I’ll have a glass of white wine.”
One drink turned into two…
Two turned into several…
Before long, we were laughing, flirting, and having a wonderful evening together.
Later, as I was getting dressed to leave, she smiled and asked,
“Can I ask you something?”

“…you’ve been amazing company.”
“Why on earth did your girlfriend leave you?”

And replied,
