Last night, I was relaxing on the sofa, happily watching TV, when my husband suddenly shouted from the kitchen,
“Hey, gorgeous! What do you fancy for dinner—chicken, beef, or lamb?”
My heart immediately melted.
“Gorgeous?” I thought. “After all these years, he still knows how to make me feel special!”
Feeling flattered, I called back,
“Chicken sounds wonderful, sweetheart!”
There was a brief silence from the kitchen.
Then my husband shouted back,
“Not you, chubby! You’re having diet soup!”
“I was asking the dog!”
The room went completely silent.
Even the dog looked embarrassed.
