A woman was pulled over for speeding.
The officer walked up to her window and said,
“Ma’am, may I see your driver’s license?”
She calmly replied,
“I don’t have one. It was revoked for drunk driving.”
The officer froze.
“Uh… okay. Can I see the registration for the car?”
“It’s not mine,” she said.
“I stole it.”
The officer’s eyes widened.
“And there’s a body in the trunk.”
At that point, the officer slowly stepped away from the car and called for backup.
Within minutes, the police chief arrived.
He approached the woman and said,
“Ma’am, my officer tells me you have no license, you’re driving a stolen car, and there’s a body in the trunk.”
The woman looked completely confused.
“What? That’s ridiculous!”
She immediately handed the chief her valid driver’s license and registration.
The chief checked the documents.
Everything was perfectly legal.
He opened the trunk.
Empty.
Not a body in sight.
The woman sighed and shook her head.
“I knew that officer was a liar!”
The chief raised an eyebrow.
“Really? What else did he lie about?”
She pointed at him and said,
“He probably told you I was speeding, too!”
The chief slowly turned toward the officer.
The officer suddenly wished he had chosen a different career.
